Taha, a terminally ill boy, always wanted to become a photographer. And it came as an ecstatic surprise to him, when a charity society made his dream come true by buying him a professional camera. He even received outdoor photography lessons.
Dream society has undertaken a mission to fulfill the dreams of 25 terminally ill children this Ramadan, as part of their unique campaign.
As part of their '30 Dreams in 30 Days' campaign, it has so far granted the wishes of 25 children, and five more are yet to be attended to in the next five days.
The Society Chairwoman Eman Nooruddin said around BD 30,000 was raised during a fundraiser last month.
"We have a great team of about 20 people, including volunteers and board members. The campaign is becoming a success due to their hard-work and dedication. Its Ramadan and we are working on a dream everyday," she said.
Nooruddin, who is also a trainer and therapist, said most children that the organization deals with are at the last stages of their diseases.
A spokesperson from the organization unfolded to DT News some of the dreams the organization fulfilled in the past three weeks. "A hear-warming story is of Ali, an energetic 4-year-old diagnosed with leukemia. He loves cars and dreamt of having a red one. Thanks to donors and volunteers, we made his dream come true by buying him a small red car, " the spokesperson said.
He recollected another interesting wish of Khalifa Ali, who wanted to become famous. The organization promoted him using hashtags on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. He said the boy now has over 22,000 followers.
"Then there was a girl who dreamt of going to Kerala in India to meet a nurse who took care of her, and we arranged for her trip as well,” he added.
