Parking grounds become open toilets in Capital
Manama : Two large parking grounds in the Capital have become an open toilet with the entire area stinking with urine. The Government Avenue, Road 453 and block 304, just opposite the main Manama Bus Station, are the two open grounds used by anti-socials for all kinds of illegal activities. The whole area stinks as men in that area urinate publicly on the ground.
“The grounds are always crowded with expats and there are all kinds of activities happening. From Illegal taxi drivers to illegal hawkers frequent the area. We really can’t blame anyone specific as those spaces are used by so many men just to urinate in public, making the whole area stink really badly,” said a man who resides in the area.
“I am a resident in the area and I live along with my family. The place is always overcrowded with pedestrians who misuse the public space. When I go out with my family we come across people urinate. It is not a very pleasing sight for my children to watch men urinate in public. We really urge the officials to take immediate action and resolve this issue. Families in the area are a lot worried,” he said.
“The problem is these people don’t understand and lack basic etiquettes. We have tried to put up posters and raise awareness among people. I would speak to my team and we will try to come up with a solution to fix the problem,” said Chairman of Capital Municipal Council, Mohammed Ali Al Khuzai.
“We will inspect the area and find a solution for this issue so that people stop misusing public spaces,” Engineer Mazen Ahmad Al-Omran, Vice Chairman of Capital Municipal Council said.
