Workshop to get rid of municipal irregularities

ManamaThe Ministry of Municipalities Affairs concluded a two-day workshop on eradicating irregularities and violations in municipalities in the Kingdom.

The forum held on the 10th and 11th of May at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, saw participations from all the Municipalities Head of all the GCC countries from all the districts in the Kingdom.

The workshop was aimed at discussing the challenges related to the inspection and elimination of municipal irregularities and to assess new visions and laws that could help the Kingdom function better and also strengthening ties with the other Gulf Countries.

“Workshops like these are really beneficial for us as we closely observe what the rest of the Gulf countries are doing and adopt and apply the strategies that best fits Bahrain,” said Mazen Ahmad Al-Omran, Vice Chairman of Capital Municipal Council.

“In the workshop, we discussed all the possible violation under municipalities and further come up with better systems and better implementation laws.”

“As nature of the country is changing, with the advancement in urbanisation, it will be essential for the country to develop a new and an effective system that benefits the citizens and make ssure the laws aren’t violated either” he added.

”We are trying to modify laws and ways to deal with citizens as the current approach is very traditional and it delays all other procedures,” said Ammar Yaser A Karim, Chief of Inspection and Control of Capital Municipality.

“We are trying to implement a new information system that has access to all the database from all the ministries so that it is easier to get to the root of the violation and fix it immediately,” said Ammar Yaser A Karim.

“We are further trying to make the municipalities more effective for the citizens by investing in new technology and to help achieve the Bahrain 2030 vision” he added.
