Bahrain Merida finish high

ManamaBahrain Merida Cycling Team signed off their San Juan Tour in Argentina on a high note, maintaining their lead in the team classifications at the end of the event’s seventh stage.

Argentinian Max Richeze (2 hours 16 minutes 48 seconds) of Quick-Step Floors triumphed in the last stage of the Tour over a distance of 111.3km after leading away from a larger escape group halfway through the stage.  Belgium’s Tom Boonen, also of Quick-Step Floors closed in second and Italian Matteo Malucelli of Adroni Giocattoli-Sidermac finished third, both three minutes behind the stage leader.

Bahrain’s Lithuanian rider Ramunas Navardauskas finished seventh, three seconds behind the leader.

In the final individual classification, Bauke Molleme (Netherlands, Trex-Segafredo, 20 hours 19 minutes 0 seconds) came in first, followed by Oscar Sevilla (Spain, Medellin-Inder, +14 seconds) and Rodolfo Torres (Colombia, Androni Giocattoli-Sidermac, +16) .

Bahrain Merida cyclists Ramunas Navardauskas (+49) was seventh and Italian Vincenzo Nibali (1:15) finished eighth overall.

The 35th edition of the event was over seven stages and covered a distance of 886.1km.
