Marking an era

LondonBahrain and theUK should seize all available opportunities to increase high-level joint ventures, said His Majesty King Hamad bin Is Al Khalifa yesterday.. 

HM the King was speaking while meeting British Prime Minister Theresa May in London to discuss bilateral relations and ways of further developing these ties. Besides, they discussed a number of regional and international issues.

During the meeting, HM King Hamad said he was proud of the close historical ties bonding the two countries, dating back over 200 years. King Hamad pointed out that further interaction, including more frequent visits of experts and representatives of government and civil societies, would broaden future prospects.

HM the King went on to say that he was looking forward to enhancing economic ties between the UK and Bahrain, as well as with the GCC countries in general.

Moreover, HM the King lauded the supportive stance of the UK in backing security in Bahrain. He appreciated the important strategic role of the UK in contributing to regional and global security. 

The British PM thanked King Hamad for the invitation to visit Bahrain to celebrate the 200th year anniversary of Bahrain-UK relations and during the GCC Summit in December.

HM the King also received a delegation of members of the Bahrain All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) and Conservative Middle East Council (CMEC) at his residence in London and highlighted the opportunities to develop a long-standing friendship.
