He urged the embassy staff to be polite and said one more hall had been added to serve over 100,000 Pakistanis in Bahrain.

Community Welfare Counsellor Maqsood Qadir Shah said NADRA’s online system would soon be operational, which would speed up the troubleshooting process. He said manual passports would not be acceptable after November 1 and hence, all the individuals should ensure they have Machine Readable Passports.

Shah said they are contemplating on helping 125 Pakistani prisoners, who do not have enough money to file their cases in the courts of law. Upon the request of Pakistan Overseas Advisory Council member Afzal Bhatti, the ambassador ensured speedy visa system in emergency cases.

Sports Secretary of Pakistan Club, Rana Shahid said passengers of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) were taken to Salmaniya Medical Complex for scanning for almost seven hours, causing inconvenience to many.

The ambassador promised to soon install scanners at the airport to solve this issue. A community member complained about the holding of passports and undue visa cancellations by the employers. Shah said the embassy would not let any employer hold their worker’s passport and urged members to contact them in such cases.
