Bahrain, Gulf human trafficking : India approach Interpol
Manama: The Crime Branch wing of Kerala, India police have sought help from the Interpol in arresting the culpritsof an online sex racket and human trafficking case who escaped to Bahrain and other Gulf countries, Indian media reports.
Around 60 women were trafficked to Bahrain by this notorious gang and six culprits have been arrested so far.
In January this year Abdul Nazar and Shahida, who were residing in Bahrain, were arrested at the Mumbai airport by the Anti Terror Squad (ATS) while trying to escape to Chennai.
Crime Branch has given details of six victims to the Interpol.
The human trafficking is spearheaded by Mujeeb. Akbar, Joyce, Joshi, Mustafa, Geetha, Lineesh Mathew, Ashik, Mahesh, Manu and Unnikrishnan are the other accused in the human trafficking case.
They have allegedly trafficked around 60 young women to Bahrain in the past few years. Police investigations revealed that the women were trafficked with help from officials at various airports in India.
