Deputy PM chairs Construction and Infra meet

Manama:Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa has given directives to provide shaded parking lots for residential buildings in Isa Town.

Shaikh Khalid also instructed the Housing Ministry to discuss adequate alternatives with the Eskan Bank to ensure fairness and provide one shaded parking per flat at least.

Chairing the Construction and Infrastructure Committee meeting here yesterday, Shaikh Khalid also mulled the possibility of allocating parking lots for those who own more than one car per flat. The Deputy Premier stressed the importance of respecting the law, enforcing legal provisions and correcting any shortcomings and illegal encroachments and unauthorised power and water extensions, particularly in the zones looking on vital main avenues.

Shaikh Khalid stressed the government’s keenness on providing underground parking lots at newly-constructed residential buildings, in addition to external parking spaces to ensure more
alternatives.

Addressing the session, Shaikh Khalid said that this format would be integrated in future housing projects in different parts of Bahrain.

The Ministry of Housing has coordinated with the Ministry of Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning and the Ministry of Interior to conduct a joint campaign and remove  violations, particularly illegal metallic extensions which endanger people’s lives as well as unauthorised car shades at residential bloc 801 in Isa Town.
