HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Chairs Cabinet Meeting
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace, where ministers reviewed a wide range of national, economic and international matters.
The Cabinet highlighted the outcomes of the recent meeting between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, describing the engagement as a reflection of the longstanding ties between Bahrain and Egypt. Ministers stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination and consultation between the two countries, particularly on regional developments.
The meeting also welcomed Malaysia’s decision to host the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix from October 2 to 4, 2026. The Cabinet expressed appreciation to Malaysia, Formula 1, the FIA, Bahrain International Circuit, Sepang International Circuit and participating teams for their cooperation in facilitating the event.
The Cabinet further marked the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, reaffirming Bahrain’s commitment to combating human trafficking and strengthening national efforts in this field. Appreciation was extended to the Ministry of Interior and other authorities involved in preventing trafficking and protecting victims.
Several reports and proposals were also approved during the meeting, including a review of Bahrain’s education and vocational sectors during the 2025–2026 academic year. The Cabinet also approved a plan aimed at further improving performance across these sectors.
Economic matters featured prominently, with ministers approving Bahrain’s Quarterly Economic Report for the first quarter of 2026. The Cabinet also reviewed the Kingdom’s contributions to regional and international organisations and approved the annual report and audited financial statements of the Future Generations Reserve Fund for the financial year ending December 31, 2025.
The government’s response to a number of proposals submitted by the Council of Representatives was also approved as part of the Cabinet’s review of parliamentary matters.
Digital government services were another focus of the meeting. Ministers examined the performance of government entities through the Sijilat, Tawasul and Benayat systems between January and June 2026, comparing their performance with the corresponding period of 2025.
The Cabinet also reviewed reports covering Bahrain’s international engagement, including the official visit of the Minister of Interior to Syria and Bahrain’s participation in a high-level United Nations General Assembly meeting on the midterm review of the Urban Agenda.
The meeting concluded with a review of international visits involving Bahraini ministers and visits by foreign ministers to the Kingdom during August, reflecting Bahrain’s continued diplomatic engagement and international cooperation.
