Bahrain, DHL Explore Logistics Expansion
Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa met John Pearson, Global Chief Executive Officer of DHL Express, to discuss expanding cooperation and supporting the continued growth of Bahrain's logistics sector.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa, Chairman of DHL Express Bahrain, and Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat).
Shaikh Salman, who also serves as Chairman of Mumtalakat, reaffirmed Bahrain's commitment to developing the logistics sector as a key pillar of sustainable economic growth. He said the Kingdom continues to strengthen its position as a leading regional logistics hub by leveraging its strategic location, modern ports and airports, and advanced infrastructure to improve supply chain efficiency and facilitate regional and international trade.
The discussions also covered ways to deepen cooperation with DHL Express, the company's expansion plans in Bahrain, and its contribution to trade and logistics services. The two sides explored opportunities to capitalize on Bahrain's competitive advantages, including its strategic location, world-class infrastructure, and business-friendly regulatory environment, to support future growth and investment.
