The Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs at the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture, Engineer Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, said that granting licensed engineering offices the authority to conduct final inspections of completed buildings will accelerate procedures and improve the efficiency of municipal services.

He explained that the decision aligns with the Ministry’s broader efforts to enhance the licensing system and municipal services, and to improve processes for issuing residential and investment permits. He noted that this supports Bahrain’s ongoing urban development needs.

Shaikh Mohammed highlighted that Ministerial Decision No. (25) of 2026, which amends parts of the executive regulations of the Building Regulation Law, aims to streamline inspection procedures by utilizing the expertise of licensed national engineering offices. Under the new framework, these offices will be responsible for conducting final inspections of completed buildings in accordance with approved legal and regulatory standards.
