Minister of Youth Affairs, Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, inaugurated Bayt Lamea in Muharraq Governorate, marking the launch of a new initiative aimed at supporting and developing young talent in the Kingdom.
The opening ceremony was attended by Shaikha Dwa bint Khalid Al Khalifa. Speaking at the inauguration, the Minister described the project as a “qualitative step” toward creating integrated youth environments that nurture national talent, develop skills and empower young people to contribute to Bahrain’s wider development goals.
She said the initiative reflects the vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, aimed at building a comprehensive national system to empower young people and encourage creativity, innovation and excellence.
The minister added that Bayt Lamea would serve as a national incubator for emerging young leaders and a platform to support promising Bahraini capabilities, aligning with the country’s long-term focus on investing in youth.
She also noted that the project was developed through cooperation between the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), highlighting what she described as integrated national efforts to strengthen the youth sector and provide inspiring environments for future talent.
Tawfiqi said the ministry continues to prioritise skills development and youth qualification programmes through initiatives designed to enhance readiness and increase participation in national development.
Bayt Lamea is expected to function as a dedicated space for mentoring, training and supporting young Bahrainis as part of broader efforts to expand youth engagement across the country.
