Manama

A British woman, in her early Fifties, has gone missing during her visit to Bahrain recently. Christine Gutteridge, 54, a UK citizen is based in Saudi Arabia, came to Bahrain for a few days to spend her holidays.

She was expected to return to Saudi Arabia by May 21. However she was not suspected to be “missing” until the later part of last week as she was spotted at Movenpick hotel on May 27.

Speaking to DT News, Gutteridge’s son, Ayden That Appleton said he had contacted hotels in Bahrian in efforts to find his mother. “We have contacted hotels in the area with a description and picture so that they can contact us back if she attempts to check in,” adding that he was informed by a source that she was spotted at a bar in Juffair.

“We do not have any other information except that she had recently visited the bar Warblers,” he said.  “We don’t think that she had any major health issues but we are not ruling out the Possibility of her being admitted to any hospital for any reason,” he said.

Family and friends of Gutteridge in UK and Saudi Arabia are baffled by her disappearance. Lucie Blackman Trust, a UK Based charity organization, was the first to report the case. “Christine had been due to return to Saudi Arabia during the week of May 18.
