Russia, Germany Express Support for Bahrain Amid Regional Tensions

The Russian and German ambassadors to Bahrain have voiced strong concern over the escalating tensions in the region and reaffirmed their support for the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Alexey Skosyrev, Russian Ambassador to Bahrain, expressed his country’s deep concern regarding the current dangerous escalation and its potential consequences. Ambassador Skosyrev extended Russia’s sympathy to the people of Bahrain and called for an immediate halt to hostilities, urging a return to diplomatic dialogue in accordance with the United Nations Charter.

Ambassador Skosyrev also praised the high level of performance by Bahrain’s emergency response agencies during the ongoing events. He commended the authorities for keeping diplomatic missions informed, which helped maintain essential social services, supply chains, and access to necessary consumer goods.

 Meanwhile, Henning Simon, German Ambassador to Bahrain, strongly condemned the recent Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain and other regional countries. He reaffirmed Germany’s full support for Bahrain’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and stability. Ambassador Simon stressed that Iran’s indiscriminate airstrikes on neighboring states and Gulf countries threaten regional security and put civilian lives at risk, calling on Tehran to immediately cease its attacks.

In his statements, Ambassador Simon highlighted the professionalism of Bahrain’s security, defense, and civil protection agencies, particularly the Bahrain Defence Force, noting their effective and efficient handling of the recent events. He emphasized the importance of close cooperation between countries to counter threats to regional stability and affirmed Germany’s commitment to closely monitor the situation and provide necessary support to maintain peace and security in Bahrain and across the region.

Ambassador Simon added that the German Embassy is closely following developments and is fully prepared to assist German nationals in Bahrain, urging citizens to consult the official website of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs for updates.
