60 Mosques to Be Renovated Across Bahrain for the Holy Month

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa chaired the weekly cabinet meeting today at Al-Qudaibiya Palace, with a special focus on the upcoming holy month of Ramadan and national development plans.


Cabinet Extends Ramadan Greetings to King and Citizens

At the start of the meeting, the Council extended its heartfelt congratulations to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the approach of Ramadan, wishing all citizens and residents a blessed and peaceful month of reflection, charity, and spiritual renewal.


Strengthening Regional Ties Ahead of Ramadan

The Council praised the results of His Royal Highness’s recent fraternal visits to Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Oman. During these visits, he met with:

  • Mohammed bin Salman

  • Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan

  • Sultan Haitham bin Tariq

The Cabinet expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and collaborative discussions that strengthen Gulf unity and regional cooperation during the holy month.


Opening and Renovation of Mosques Across Bahrain

In line with Ramadan preparations, His Royal Highness ordered the opening, renovation, and rehabilitation of 60 mosques under the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments across all governorates.

The initiative aims to provide modern, comfortable, and spiritually enriching spaces for worshippers, following advanced Islamic architectural designs. The Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs is coordinating with relevant authorities to ensure rapid implementation.


Ramadan and Eid Celebrations Plan Approved

The Cabinet approved the official plan for Ramadan events, including community activities, spiritual programs, and charity initiatives, as well as preparations for the upcoming Eid celebrations. These plans aim to foster a spirit of unity, generosity, and cultural engagement throughout Bahrain.


Youth and Arts Initiatives Highlight Community Engagement

The Council congratulated the winners of the King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment, which promotes youth contributions toward sustainable development goals, reflecting Bahrain’s commitment to nurturing young talent during the holy month.

Participants in the 52nd Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition were also commended, highlighting the role of arts and culture in enriching community life during Ramadan.


Sports and Community Engagement During Ramadan

The Cabinet praised the positive participation from government and private sectors in Bahrain’s National Sports Day, emphasizing the importance of health, wellness, and community engagement during Ramadan.


Regional Travel Facilitation Ahead of Ramadan

The Council welcomed the launch of the first phase of the “Single Travel Point” system between Bahrain and the UAE starting tomorrow. This initiative allows travelers to complete all immigration procedures from a single point, ensuring smooth travel during the busy Ramadan period.


Additional National Initiatives and Reports

The Cabinet also:

  • Approved mutual recognition measures for imported food products, supporting Ramadan market preparations.

  • Reviewed property acquisitions for public benefit to facilitate urban development.

  • Monitored ongoing projects under the Ministry of Information and development committees.

  • Assessed reports on the 13th Bahraini Farmers’ Market, annual Baker Hughes meetings, tourism enhancement via AI, and Arab Media Ministers’ executive sessions.
