Fifth Constituency Records 221 Service Requests as Infrastructure Leads Demands

The Fifth Constituency in the Capital Governorate recorded 221 service-related requests and submissions between January 2024 and late 2025. This reflects sustained pressure on infrastructure and municipal services across one of Manama’s most densely serviced districts.

According to an official summary of requirements covering the period, the constituency encompasses seven areas and 13 blocks, including Segaya, Salmaniya, Abu Ghazal, Abu Ashira, Mahooz, Zinj and Bilad Al Qadeem. The district also hosts six public parks alongside a high concentration of schools, health facilities, religious sites and diplomatic premises.

Infrastructure

Data shows that the majority of requests is 123 cases, or about 65% of total submissions—were directed to the Ministry of Works. These largely concerned road resurfacing, pavement maintenance, rainwater accumulation, street lighting and traffic signage.

The Capital Municipality received 53 requests, primarily linked to cleanliness and general municipal services, while a limited number were referred to the Ministry of Health and other authorities.

Of 214 outgoing follow ups recorded, 64 percent were marked as completed, 25 percent remain under study and 11 percent received official responses.

The figures underline that the constituency’s primary challenge is sustained maintenance, not expansion, as ageing infrastructure and high service density continue to generate recurring demands requiring coordinated action between municipal and national authorities
