Cabinet Praises US Peace Efforts, Hopes for Global Stability and Development
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the regular weekly Cabinet meeting today at Gudaibiya Palace.
At the start of the meeting, the Cabinet praised the outcomes of the extensive talks held by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa with His Excellency President Nikos Christodoulides of the Republic of Cyprus. The Cabinet highlighted the significance of the Cypriot President’s visit to Bahrain, which included the inauguration of the Cypriot Embassy in the Kingdom, the Bahraini-Cypriot Business Forum between the Chambers of Commerce, and the signing of nine agreements and memoranda of understanding in the fields of education, culture, tourism, and information technology.
The Cabinet then expressed its gratitude to His Excellency President Donald Trump of the United States for his efforts in promoting sustainable peace globally and regionally, commending the Board of Peace and expressing hopes that it will achieve its objectives in enhancing cooperation, supporting stability, and promoting development for all.
The Cabinet also commended Bahrain’s high-level delegation at the 2026 Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos. Representing His Majesty the King, HRH the Minister of the Royal Court participated in several key discussions, sessions, and meetings, showcasing Bahrain’s achievements and initiatives.
Additionally, the Cabinet welcomed Manama being named the Arab Youth Entrepreneurs Capital for 2026, a recognition approved by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
The Cabinet underscored the vital importance of the Jasra Power Transmission Station, Bahrain’s largest electricity transfer facility.
In celebration of Bahrain’s Sports Day, the Cabinet decided that Thursday, February 12, 2026, will be a half-day for all ministries and government agencies, allowing employees to participate in Sports Day events and reinforcing sports as a societal culture.
On the occasion of the International Day of Living Together in Peace, the Cabinet reaffirmed Bahrain’s continued commitment to initiatives promoting coexistence and tolerance.
The Cabinet then reviewed a number of memoranda submitted by ministerial committees and ministers, approving the following:

Cooperation with the private sector to implement developmental projects.

Draft legislation amending the decree-law on the practice of human medicine and dentistry, and the decree-law on the practice of allied medical professions by non-doctors and pharmacists.

Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Bahrain and the Mohoobi Al-Amal Foundation.

Framework to secure supplies in the mining and processing of vital metals and rare earth elements between Bahrain and the United States.

Improvements to mechanisms ensuring the quality of academic programs.

Government responses to a number of proposals submitted by the Council of Representatives.
Finally, the Cabinet reviewed a report on the official visit of the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Quality Assurance Authority for Education and Training to the United Kingdom.
