Bahrain job market grows 6pc

Bahrain job market has witnessed a six per cent growth in December 2015 compared to October. This was revealed in a study done by Naukri Gulf, a job portal. 

The healthy growth in Bahrain follows overall strong trend in the GCC job market, with Saudi Arabia witnessing 18 per cent growth, Kuwait recording 14pc growth and Qatar recording nine pc growth in the same period.

The Naukri Gulf Job Speak Index shows hiring trends across industry sectors, functional areas and geographical markets. The Index analyses online jobs available in the public domain in the GCC markets.

Across GCC, industries such as services and education witnessed a phenomenal increase in jobs creation. FMCG, IT & Telecom, Manufacturing and Healthcare maintained a positive trend while Banking, Retail and Oil & Gas registered a dip in the overall job market. 

The data also shows increased demand for professionals in IT, Medical, Engineering and Technical domain but a slump in new jobs for Finance & Accounts professionals while Sales & Marketing recorded no new jobs. “The region witnessed a growth of 7pc new jobs in December over October 2015. Hiring trends in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait look impressive whereas the UAE, Oman and Bahrain are slowly moving ahead over this period. Sector wise, there is an exponential increase in the demand for services, recruitment and consulting opportunities in the GCC. Positive news is for professionals in IT and Medical field, and overall the job market in the GCC is looking positive,” Tarun Aggarwal, Business Head- Naukrigulf.com says.

In the GCC, Service sector lead the new job market with a 60pc growth, Education sector recorded 21pc, Trading jobs grew by 17pc, FMCG, IT, Telecom & Internet at 14pc, and Manufacturing & Healthcare grew by 12pc and 10pc respectively.

The Retail sector had a bad phase and saw opportunities coming down by 16pc, Financial services also followed suit with a 12pc slowdown in number of jobs.

Demand for Information Technology professionals grew by 21pc and demand for Medical Professionals grew by 14pc, Naukrigulf added in the report.
