His Excellency Engineer Shaikh Meshal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, visited the bridge project linking Shaikh Isa bin Salman Bridge with Street 105 in the Busaiteen area to review the progress of final works and assess the latest implementation developments.

The visit was attended by H.E. Eng. Ahmed Sami Al Tajer, Assistant Undersecretary for Roads, along with several ministry officials and members of the project team.

During the visit, the Undersecretary was briefed by project engineers on completion rates, remaining works, and preparations ahead of the project’s opening.

Efforts

He noted that the advanced pace of construction reflects the combined efforts of the Ministry’s engineering teams, the implementing contractor, and the consulting firm.

H.E. Engineer Shaikh Meshal commended the effective cooperation among all relevant entities, highlighting the spirit of the “One Bahrain Team” in delivering the project within a short timeframe. He expressed particular appreciation for the support provided by the General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior, the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), and other supporting bodies.

Initiative

The Undersecretary stressed that the project is among the Ministry of Works’ key strategic initiatives, aimed at enhancing traffic flow and upgrading infrastructure between the Muharraq Governorate and the Capital Governorate.

He noted that the project will support economic development and help attract further investment to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

H.E. Engineer Shaikh Meshal explained that the project includes the construction of an overpass with two lanes in each direction to facilitate traffic movement from Manama via Shaikh Isa bin Salman Bridge to the Muharraq Ring Road through Street 105 in Busaiteen, as well as traffic heading from the Muharraq Ring Road towards Muharraq City.

Traffic

This is expected to significantly improve traffic flow between Manama and Muharraq, particularly following the opening of the Muharraq Ring Road at the end of 2024.

He added that the project will also ease movement between Manama, Muharraq, Busaiteen, Al Saya, Diyar Al Muharraq, and surrounding areas, while reducing congestion at the intersection of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Bridge and Al Ghous Street.
