Bahrain Signs Agreement to Boost Sports Infrastructure
The General Sports Authority (GSA) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture to enhance sports infrastructure across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The agreement was formalized by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the GSA, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), alongside Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture. The signing ceremony was attended by His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the GSA, and Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, CEO of the GSA.
Under the agreement, the football field at the Comprehensive Municipal Centre in Tubli will be developed, while the Municipal Hall near Souq Al Shaabi will be incorporated into the GSA’s network of sports facilities. The initiative forms part of a broader integrated facilities project for government entities, designed to boost efficiency, expand access, and provide a safe and inspiring environment for athletes and the community.
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad emphasized that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing national sports development. He noted that sustainable and integrated sports infrastructure plays a vital role in nurturing talent, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and supporting Bahrain’s Economic Vision.
