8th Cycle of Princess Sabeeka Award Launched
On the occasion of the launch of the 8th cycle of the HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for the Advancement of Bahraini Women, Her Highness Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa expressed pride in the achievements of the award since its inception, describing it as a key national pillar supporting the empowerment of Bahraini women and enhancing their role across various fields of development.
Her Highness stated: “The award, launched with the visionary guidance of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, serves as a prestigious national platform to honor both institutional and individual efforts that contribute to the progress of Bahraini women. It encourages the adoption of sustainable practices that promote gender balance in the workplace and society.”
She added: “Over the past eight cycles, the award has succeeded in embedding a culture of empowerment, highlighting inspiring national role models, and contributing to the development of institutional policies that support women’s participation in public and economic life, aligning with the Kingdom’s aspirations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.”
Her Highness Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa emphasized that the 8th cycle of the award (2024–2026) will feature a qualitative development in evaluation mechanisms, reflecting national developments and keeping pace with progress in implementing the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women. She encouraged all institutions, organizations, and individuals to engage positively with the award and submit initiatives that embody a genuine commitment to equal opportunities.
Her Highness concluded: “At the Supreme Council for Women, and under the gracious guidance of HRH Princess Sabeeka, we remain committed to supporting every effort that enhances the status of Bahraini women and solidifies their presence as active partners in building a balanced and prosperous nation.”
