Bahrain’s Parliament Prepares for Upcoming Regional and Asian Parliamentary Meetings

Under the chairmanship of His Excellency Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, the committee held a meeting this morning, Wednesday. The session reviewed preparations and readiness for hosting upcoming Gulf and Asian parliamentary meetings in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It also discussed invitations from parliamentary unions to participate in future conferences, alongside reports on previous parliamentary engagements.

During the meeting, the Executive Committee emphasized the legislative authority’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and supporting Bahrain’s foreign policy, which is based on balance, moderation, openness, and human rights. The committee highlighted efforts to enhance Bahrain’s position at all levels in line with the royal aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and to support the government’s initiatives under His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The committee pointed out that fostering strong relations and cooperation with parliaments of friendly and brotherly countries—through bilateral friendship committees and international participation—remains a top priority. Bahrain’s parliamentary division has earned high respect and trust in regional and international parliamentary organizations, securing leadership positions and contributing to the development of parliamentary work across the Gulf, Arab region, and beyond.

The Executive Committee also expressed appreciation for the continued cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in achieving foreign policy objectives, reinforcing national principles, promoting dialogue and good neighborliness, and highlighting Bahrain’s role as a model for tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and cultural exchange. These efforts also aim to open broad horizons for economic and investment cooperation within a modern, advanced legislative framework that serves the interests of the nation and its citizens.
