The Khaleeji Foundation has announced its sponsorship of Bahraini youth participating in the “Ithra” Summer School program at the National University of Singapore and the Harvard Youth Leadership for Change Conference, hosted in Bahrain for the first time. The programs also received partial support from Unihawk Bahrain.
This initiative reflects the Foundation’s commitment to empowering Bahraini youth, broadening their horizons, and creating opportunities for international cultural and professional exchange. It aligns with their vision of nurturing a generation capable of competing globally.
Through this effort, the Foundation supported Abdulrahman Al-Bai and Hamad Al-Khudair, along with coach Abdullah Al-Khudair, as the only Gulf and Arab team from the Middle East among 70 participants at the National University of Singapore Summer School. The academic program included interactive lectures, research activities, and cultural exchanges with students from around the world. Participants also attended workshops led by university professors on cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, electrical and electronics engineering, and modern media.
Locally and internationally, Bahrain hosted the Harvard Youth Leadership for Change Conference for the first time. Participants from the Ithra program, including Sundus Obeid, Lulwa Shweiter, Abdulaziz Suleis, and Abdullah Al-Rumaihi, presented innovative solutions to social and economic challenges and showcased leadership projects reflecting the ambition and positive impact of Bahraini youth.
All participants received the “Best Speaker” award, along with certificates of participation and recommendation letters from Harvard University faculty. They worked on real projects that enhanced their skills in innovation, problem-solving, leadership, and global sustainable development goals.
On the occasion, Her Highness Sheikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Khaleeji Foundation Board of Trustees, said:
"Investing in youth is the most valuable investment. Our move toward international programs is a new milestone in our ongoing journey to empower Bahrain’s youth. We aim to equip them with knowledge and tools to shape their future confidently. The success of Ithra participants in global programs confirms our international partners’ trust in our youth and motivates us to continue creating new opportunities for creativity and leadership."
The Khaleeji Foundation takes pride in offering such opportunities that allow young people to explore their potential and build a promising future. These initiatives are part of the Ithra program’s focus on life skills, self-reliance, cultural exchange, and professional and academic development, preparing participants to compete on an international stage.
Founded in 2011, the Khaleeji Foundation is a non-profit organization licensed by Bahrain’s Ministry of Labor and Social Development. Its mission is to create a positive social impact through education and youth empowerment, providing workshops, training, and activities designed to equip young Bahrainis with knowledge, skills, and experience for their personal growth and national progress.
