Tragedy in Ha Long Bay: Tourist Boat Capsizes, Leaving 28 Dead and Many Missing

At least 28 people have lost their lives and several others are still missing after a tourist boat carrying more than 50 people capsized in Vietnam's famous Ha Long Bay on Saturday, according to local reports.
The incident happened in the afternoon of July 19, when the Wonder Sea tourist boat overturned during a trip. Authorities confirmed that 53 people were on board at the time.
Vietnamese Border Guards and navy teams were quick to respond. They managed to rescue 11 survivors and have so far recovered 28 bodies, VNExpress reported.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing, as families and authorities hope for more survivors. The cause of the accident has not yet been confirmed, and an investigation is underway.
Ha Long Bay, known for its stunning limestone islands and popular boat tours, is one of Vietnam’s top tourist destinations. The tragedy has cast a shadow over what was meant to be a joyful day out on the water.
