A woman accused of human trafficking is set to appear before the High Criminal Court on 11 March 2025. Prosecutors say she forced a domestic worker into illegal employment, took control of her wages, and kept her passport to stop her from leaving.

The Anti-Human Trafficking and Public Morals Protection Directorate reported the case to the Public Prosecution, claiming the woman placed the worker in several homes without a proper work permit. Investigators said the conditions did not match legal requirements and that the worker had no way to leave.

Authorities questioned the victim and witnesses, gathering accounts that backed the allegations. Police inquiries supported the claims, and investigators gave their findings. With the case complete, the prosecution has sent it to court for trial.
