Warm welcome to King in Riyadh for summit

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has arrived here, heading the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation to the 36th Session of the Supreme Council of Arab Gulf States Summit.

His Majesty the King was received upon arrival by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Faisal bin Bander bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Governor of Riyadh Region, Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saudi, Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Interior Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier and Defence Minister, the GCC Secretary-General Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of State and Cabinet Member Dr Essam bin Saad bin Saeed, the accompanying minister, the Head of Royal Protocols Khalid bin Saleh Al Abbad, Riyadh Region’s Secretary Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Sultan, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr Abdullah bin Abdul Malik Al Al Shaikh, and the Ambassador Bahrain to Saudi Arabia, Shaikh Humood bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

His Majesty the King then shook hands with senior recipients, including Their Royal Highnesses princes, ministers, senior civilian and military officials. 

The Saudi King also shook hands with members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the King.

On this occasion, His Majesty the King gave the following statement:

“We are pleased as we arrive today in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to express our utmost delight to meet again our brother the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to participate in the 36th session of the Supreme Council of Arab Gulf States in Riyadh, and to work with our brethren Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the GCC countries to accomplish more steps to bolster the blessed drive we have adopted towards Gulf integration in all fields, to achieve our peoples aspirations, to keep up with current developments and respond to future aspirations.

“We are pleased to affirm that such brotherly meetings between the leaders of GCC countries are considered opportunity to exchange views and consult regarding all issues and matters of concern to our states, to achieve everything in the welfare of our peoples, constructively seek to consolidate the security and stability of the region under fast transformations in the regional and international arenas. These challenges require our top harmonisation and coordination in the Gulf movement to boost collective cooperation, work persistently to activate and develop the role of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in the manner to be felt by Gulf citizens in achieving their hopes and aspirations in entente, cohesion and cooperation, and upgrade to integration and union. We are sure the works of this session hosted by the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will achieve the desired targets and attain the aspired goals in deepening the relations between GCC member countries at all levels to boost our shared interests, thanks to the insightful wisdom of Their Majesties and Highnesses our brothers the leaders of the GCC countries who have ensured and maintained our countries’ stability and security and thwarted many dangers. 

Finally, I beseech Allah Almighty to grant us success to achieve our aspirations for prosperity of our countries and peoples. And Allah is the Provider of all success. May Allah’s peace, mercy and blessings be upon you”. 

The Mission of Honour was formed under the chairmanship of Social Affairs Minister, Dr Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi.
