According to sources, the long-overlooked Hanging Gardens in the Bu Maher area of Muharraq will reopen in December following a BD24,000 renovation. The project, led by the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, is expected to begin this month and wrap up within two months.
Aimed at revitalizing this iconic landmark, the initiative includes a series of upgrades such as repainting, improved restrooms, enhanced parking, and new seating areas. Additionally, plans are in place to introduce popular restaurants to attract more visitors, especially families, and boost tourism during the winter season.
Overlooking the historic Pearling Path, the Hanging Gardens renovation is a joint effort between the Muharraq Municipal Council and the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities. This project will breathe new life into the area, creating a vibrant recreational space for residents and tourists alike.
