Following the huge success of its wage support programme in incentivizing companies to employ Bahraini nationals, the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) said yesterday that it is expanding the National Employment Program by introducing two new wage support tracks.
These updates, designed to enhance the Ministry of Labour’s Jobs+ initiative, provide fresh options for companies to receive financial support when hiring local talent.
The newly introduced tracks offer employers the choice between two support schemes: a 50% wage subsidy for three years or a 30% subsidy for five years.
This adds to the existing option, which currently provides 70% wage support in the first year, followed by 50% in the second year, and 30% in the third year. Facilitating employment Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, emphasized the Labour Fund’s commitment to facilitating the employment of Bahrainis.
“Supporting Bahraini talent remains one of our top priorities. We continually strive to provide programs that align with labour market demands, ensuring local talent has access to job opportunities that match their skills and qualifications,” she said.
She added that these enhancements to the National Employment Program create an environment that fosters growth and opportunities for Bahrainis, contributing to the long-term goal of making them the preferred choice for employment.
Comprehensive platform The Ministry of Labour’s Jobs+ program, launched earlier this year in collaboration with the private sector, provides a comprehensive platform to connect Bahraini job seekers with private sector opportunities.
Job seekers, whether registered with the Ministry of Labour or not, can access a range of services including career counselling, job matching, and personalized follow-ups to secure sustainable employment. Companies posting vacancies on the Jobs+ platform benefit from wage subsidies and other support packages for hiring local talent.
