Cop who died in mishap laid to rest
Manama : The Bahraini policeman, who was killed in a traffic mishap on Sunday, was laid to rest in Muharraq yesterday.
Hundreds gathered at Muharraq graveyard in the afternoon yesterday to bid farewell to Ahmed Busharar, who met a tragic accident on King Hamad Highway in the southern parts of the island on Sunday evening.
As reported yesterday, the accident involved the off-duty policeman’s vehicle and police patrol vehicle. General Director of Traffic Colonel Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa confirmed yesterday that legal steps were taken and the Public Prosecution was notified.
The mishap occurred on the same area of the highway where a terror explosion was reported. News conflicted about the relation between the accident and terror attack, which targeted a police bus shortly before the accident occurred.
However, a spokesperson from Interior Ministry confirmed to DT News that “the accident was not related to the attack and it only coincided to occur on the same location”.
