HM King restructures government departments

ManamaHis Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decrees 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15/2017, restructuring various government departments.

Col. Abdullah Hamad Al Kubaisi has been appointed as Director-General of Customs Clearance and Inspection Directorate, Shaikh Turki bin Duaij Al Khalifa as Director-General of Planning and Administrative Affairs Directorate, whereas Ali Abdulhussain Al Asfoor was re-appointed as the Governor of the Northern Governorate for a four years’ term.

Decree 12/2017 stipulated the appointing of Dr. Mariam Ibrahim Al Harmasi Al Hajeri as Assistant Undersecretary for Primary and Public Healthcare in the Ministry of Health.

Shaikha Ayesha bint Ali Al Khalifa will be the Assistant Undersecretary for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation in the Ministry of Labour and Social Development.

Decree 14/2017 stipulated the appointing of Hesham Ibrahim Al Ghatam as Assistant Undersecretary for Human and Financial Resources in the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments.

Further, the President of Bahrain Authority of Culture and Antiquities will be in charge of the Directorate of Human and Financial Resources. The General Director for Antiquities in the rank of Assistant Undersecretary will preside over the Directorate of Antiquities and Museums, Directorate of National Heritage and the Directorate of Maintenance and Services. 

The Director General of Culture and Arts in the rank of Assistant Undersecretary will assume the responsibilities of the Directorate of Antiquities and Arts, Directorate of National Theatre and the Directorate of Business and Promotion.

Decree 27/2013 regarding the restructuring of the Ministry of Culture has been cancelled.
