Bahrain’s Hajj quota unchanged: Official
Manama : A total of 3,700 Bahrainis and expatriates would travel to Saudi Arabia to perform pilgrimage. “The official Bahrain Hajj quota for this year has remained unchanged,” informed Hajj delegation chief and Sharia Court of Cassation Judge Shaikh Adnan bin Abdulla Al-Qattan yesterday.
He said that 57 contractors had been allocated for Bahraini pilgrims and seven for expatriates.
Shaikh Adnan said that the Saudi authorities would supply the pilgrims with special hi-tech electronic bracelets featuring their data.
He remarked that tough security measures would be enforced at all Saudi entry points to clamp down on illegal Hajj contractors.
Shaikh Adnan added that the follow-up and evaluation committee would head to Saudi Arabia within 10 days to assess Bahrain pilgrims’ accommodation.
