UBER AGAIN LANDS IN TROUBLE IN INDIA

Its driver tries to kiss in the mouth of a woman passenger

It appears, troubles will never end for the beleaguered online taxi company Uber Technologies.

In a new development, an Indian woman has accused a driver contracted with the online taxi company of trying to sexually harass her after she hailed his cab.

The incident, reportedly, prompted the US-based firm to suspend the driver and launch an internal investigation.

Interestingly, Uber was banned in New Delhi in December after a woman passenger accused one of its drivers of rape. It was later in January the company re-started its operation after applying for radio taxi licence.

The latest accusation popped up in the social media when Ankush Pathania, the woman’s brother, posted a picture of Uber’s response to the complaint.

Stating that a police complaint has been registered, Pathania said “My sister will now share her part of the story with the police. We want the driver to be punished.”

The 21-year-old victim who is a professional dancer reportedly alleged that the driver kissed her hand after dropping her in Gurgaon city near New Delhi in Saturday night.

She ran while the driver tried to kiss her in the mouth.
