UAE, Canada Discuss Expansion of Strategic Trade

Business leaders explore opportunities in key sectors including clean energy, technology and agriculture

The United Arab Emirates and Canada have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their strategic commercial and investment partnership, with officials from both countries discussing new opportunities for economic cooperation.

During an official visit to Toronto, UAE officials held talks with Canadian Minister of International Trade Maninder Sidhu on ways to expand bilateral trade and investment ties.

The discussions were held alongside the UAE-Canada Business Roundtable, co-chaired by both sides and moderated by Jean Charest, with the participation of business leaders and government representatives from the two countries.

The meeting highlighted growing interest among Canadian companies seeking to expand their presence in the UAE, while Emirati businesses are exploring new growth opportunities in the Canadian market.

Officials discussed ways to create new partnerships between the private sectors, focusing on priority areas where both nations can enhance economic integration, including food and agriculture, clean energy, financial services, logistics and technology.

The UAE and Canada said the discussions reflected the strong potential of their bilateral partnership and their shared ambition to further develop investment and commercial cooperation.
