Manama: The US Navy has suspended its search for a sailor who was missing after an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter crashed into the Arabian Sea during a routine flight operation, ending a lengthy rescue mission that lasted more than four days.

For more than 102 hours, US Navy ships, aircraft, and rescue teams explored the Arabian Sea, covering an area of 14,000 square miles (36,000 square km). Despite the extensive search, the missing sailor could not be found.

Shortly after the incident, three of the four crew members of the helicopter were recovered and are reportedly in stable condition on board the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush. The identity of the missing sailor has not been revealed pending communication of family members.

The Navy stated that there is no evidence of hostile actions related to the incident. An investigation has been initiated to figure out what caused the helicopter to crash.

The MH-60S Sea Hawk is a navy helicopter with multiple roles, including search and rescue, logistics support, and maritime operations. The event occurred while the aircraft was flying in the Arabian Sea as part of the US Navy's regional mission.
