Two nations agree to activate bilateral committees
Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister, Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, received Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar was in Doha on Sunday, as part of the Indian minister's multi-nation Gulf tour.
The two officials reviewed the state of Qatar-India relations, focusing particularly on economic ties and avenues for further development. Regional developments and their implications for global energy markets also featured prominently in discussions, alongside other matters of mutual interest.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to resolving differences through dialogue and diplomatic channels, emphasising that such approaches are essential to promoting security and stability at both regional and international levels.
The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation across priority areas through joint working mechanisms and bilateral committees.
Jaishankar's Doha stop is part of a broader trip spanning Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, the United States, and Belgium, aimed at deepening India's diplomatic and strategic engagements across key partner nations.
