Oman, UNICEF review cooperation on humanitarian and development work

His Excellency Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Al-Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, met with senior United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) official Carla Haddad Mardini in Muscat to discuss ongoing cooperation between Oman and the agency.
The meeting, held at the General Diwan of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focused on strengthening collaboration across humanitarian and development sectors, emphasizing initiatives designed to deliver long-term and sustainable impact.
Both sides reviewed existing programmes and explored ways to further enhance partnerships in support of sustainable development goals and broader humanitarian efforts.
Discussions also highlighted Oman’s continued commitment to multilateral cooperation and its role in advancing global development priorities.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Omar bin Saeed Al-Kathiri, Oman’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, and UNICEF Representative in Oman Sumaira Chowdhry, alongside several officials from both sides.
