Israel orders evacuations in southern Lebanon ahead of strikes on Hezbollah targets

Beirut: The Israeli military issued evacuation warnings on Saturday for residents of several villages in southern Lebanon, saying it was preparing to carry out strikes against Hezbollah positions.
In statements posted in Arabic, the military accused Hezbollah of violating the ceasefire agreement and said Israeli forces would take action against what it described as militant infrastructure in the area.
The warnings covered seven villages in southern Lebanon, including communities near the city of Nabatieh, and urged residents to leave for their safety before the planned attacks.
The announcement comes amid ongoing tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border despite a ceasefire aimed at reducing hostilities between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah movement.
There was no immediate response from Hezbollah, and it was not clear when the strikes would begin. The latest warnings have raised fears of renewed escalation in southern Lebanon, where cross-border clashes have continued intermittently since the outbreak of the Gaza war.
