Qatar rejects reports it 'offered' Iran $12bn for US deal

DOHA: Qatar has officially dismissed reports claiming it offered Iran $12 billion to finalise a peace deal ending the stalled U.S.-Israeli war. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al Ansari described the allegations as ‘utterly baseless’ fabrications weaponised by anonymous factions intending to derail ongoing diplomatic negotiations and destabilize the region.
The diplomatic denial coincided with the arrival of a high-level Iranian delegation in Doha to resolve bilateral matters and discuss frozen assets.
Doha emphasized that its ongoing peace facilitation efforts alongside regional allies are transparent and well-documented. Qatari authorities reaffirmed that the state remains fully committed to its role as a trusted mediator, refusing to let speculative rumors compromise delicate regional de-escalation efforts.
