Mexico City: BTS's return to Mexico City ignited an extraordinary wave of ‘K-pop fever’ as approximately 50,000 fans converged at the National Palace to witness the superstars.
After a four-year hiatus for mandatory military service, the group met with President Claudia Sheinbaum, who shared a photo with the members and their new album, ‘ARIRANG’.
From a balcony overlooking the Zocalo, Kim Nam-joon expressed his gratitude to the emotional crowd in Spanish.
The visit serves as a prelude to a massive three-night stadium residency on May 7, 9, and 10. Demand for the group remains unprecedented, with over 135,000 tickets selling out within minutes.
For many fans who couldn't secure tickets, the public appearance provided a rare and emotional opportunity to see the group in person. President Sheinbaum has already extended an invitation for the group to return next year.
