Australian Jewish group warned of 'terrorist attack' before Bondi shooting: inquiry

CANBERRA: A high-profile inquiry revealed on Thursday that a Jewish community organization warned Australian police of a ‘likely’ terrorist attack just days before the deadly Bondi Beach mass shooting.
The Community Security Group (CSG) sent an email to authorities stating that there was a ‘high level of antisemitic vilification’ and that an attack against the New South Wales Jewish community was probable.
Despite the specific warning, police officials responded that they were unable to provide dedicated officers for the event. Instead, authorities opted to use mobile patrols to ’check in and monitor’ the situation.
The subsequent attack by two gunmen resulted in the deaths of 15 people at one of Australia’s most iconic landmarks, raising serious questions about security protocols and the handling of intelligence.
