ABU DHABI:  Dubai South has announced a comprehensive relief package for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to help them navigate current economic challenges. On Tuesday, the master developer revealed a series of incentives, including rent-free periods and payment deferments, aimed at supporting businesses operating within its specialized free zones and residential districts.

The relief measures include a three-month rent holiday for new and existing SME tenants in the Business Park, as well as the option to defer rental payments for up to six months. Additionally, Dubai South has waived several administrative fees related to license renewals and visa processing. These steps are designed to ease cash flow pressures on smaller firms as global supply chain disruptions and rising energy costs continue to impact operational budgets in the region.

Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, stated that the initiative aligns with the government’s broader strategy to reinforce Dubai’s position as a resilient global business hub.

By lowering the cost of doing business, the developer aims to ensure that the SME sector, a critical pillar of the local economy, can maintain its workforce and continue its growth trajectory despite the volatile international market.

Beyond financial incentives, the package also includes technical support and easier access to digital platforms for companies looking to transition to remote or hybrid work models.

Industry analysts suggest that these proactive measures by major developers like Dubai South are essential for maintaining market stability and preventing a significant downturn in the commercial real estate sector.
