Kochi: The mortal remains of 20 Indian nationals who died under different circumstances arrived in Cochin International Airport, Kerala, late Tuesday night on a special Kuwait Airways flight, marking a coordinated repatriation effort after recent disruptions in flight services from Kuwait.
The flight, KU5632, operating on the Kuwait–Colombo–Kochi route, was dedicated solely to transporting the bodies and carried no passengers.
Officials said the remains, which had been awaiting transportation due to earlier flight disruptions, were brought together on a single flight for onward transfer to their respective hometowns.
Arrangements were made for swift clearance upon arrival at the airport, with authorities ensuring all procedures were completed efficiently and with dignity. The mortal remains were later dispatched to various locations, including Kozhikode, Alappuzha, Kottayam, and parts of Tamil Nadu, for final rites.
Authorities coordinated closely with local officials and families to ensure the process was handled respectfully and without further delay.
