U.S. President Donald Trump has sharply criticised NATO, claiming the alliance has done “absolutely nothing” to support the United States in its military campaign involving Iran.

In an all-caps post on Truth Social, Trump accused NATO nations of failing to assist, adding that the US “needs nothing” from its allies and warning them to “never forget” the moment.

While NATO has not been directly involved in the conflict, it has taken limited defensive actions, including intercepting Iranian missiles targeting Turkey. Several member states have also pledged efforts to help secure shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz.

However, many allies have resisted calls for deeper military involvement, expressing concern over entering a conflict they were not consulted on. Some countries have openly criticised US and Israeli strikes on Iran, with Frank-Walter Steinmeier stating the war violates international law.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has sought to ease tensions, acknowledging Trump’s concerns while emphasizing that European nations are working together to stabilise the region.
