Trump Announces Talks With Iran, Postpones Strikes on Power Plants
U.S. President Donald J. Trump announced that over the past two days, the United States and Iran have engaged in “very good and productive” discussions aimed at achieving a complete resolution of hostilities in the Middle East.
Speaking publicly, President Trump highlighted the constructive nature of the talks and said they are expected to continue throughout the week. In light of the discussions, he has instructed the Department of Defense to postpone any planned military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a period of five days. The continuation of this pause is contingent on the success of the ongoing meetings.
“This decision reflects our commitment to diplomacy and a peaceful resolution, while remaining prepared for all contingencies,” President Trump said.
