Saudi Defence Minister Holds High-Level Talks in Washington to Strengthen US Ties

Washington: Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman held a series of high-level meetings with senior US officials in Washington on Thursday as part of an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the discussions focused on Saudi–US ties and ways to enhance cooperation, alongside a review of key regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Prince Khalid met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, and US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. The talks addressed strategic relations between Riyadh and Washington, as well as joint efforts to promote regional and global peace and stability.
“The meeting reviewed the strategic relations between our countries and explored prospects for enhancing our cooperation,” Prince Khalid said, adding that discussions also covered shared efforts to advance stability at both regional and international levels.
The meetings were attended by Saudi Ambassador to the United States Princess Reema bint Bandar and Saudi Chief of General Staff Lieutenant-General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili.
Prince Khalid also met Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, with whom he discussed the longstanding partnership between Saudi Arabia and the United States, as well as regional and global developments.
Following the meeting, Prince Khalid said the talks reflected the enduring friendship between the two nations and their continued coordination on issues of shared concern.
