GCC Foreign Ministers Meet in New York to Coordinate on UN Agenda

Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, participated in the coordination meeting of the GCC Ministerial Council held today at the Permanent Mission of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

The meeting was chaired by H.E. Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, Foreign Minister of Kuwait and current chair of the Ministerial Council, and attended by the foreign ministers of the GCC member states, along with H.E. Mr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

During the session, the ministers reviewed the items on the agenda and discussed joint coordination among the GCC states regarding meetings with foreign ministers of friendly countries, as well as the issues to be addressed during the 80th UN General Assembly.

Bahrain’s delegation included Ambassador Jamal Faris Al-Ruwaii, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations, and Ambassador Khalid Youssef Al-Jalahma, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
