Explosions Heard in Doha, Reported Targeted Strike on Hamas Officials
Doha, Qatar — Several explosions were reported in Doha on Tuesday, with smoke seen rising over the Katara District, witnesses told Reuters.
According to Axios reporter Barak Ravid, citing Israeli officials, the blasts were part of an assassination attempt targeting senior Hamas officials.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israeli Security Agency (ISA) confirmed the operation, describing it as a precise strike against members of Hamas’ leadership responsible for orchestrating attacks against Israel, including the October 7 massacre.
The IDF stated that precautions were taken to minimize harm to civilians, using precise munitions and additional intelligence. The military agencies emphasized that they would continue to take actions against Hamas to prevent further attacks on Israel.
