EU Condemns Deadly Jerusalem Shooting, Urges Ceasefire

The European Union strongly condemned a deadly shooting at a bus stop in East Jerusalem on Monday, carried out by Palestinian gunmen. The EU emphasized that the attack highlights the urgent need for a ceasefire as the conflict in Gaza continues.
"We condemn this attack, as we condemn all loss of lives," EU spokesperson Anouar El Anouni said. "We call for de-escalation. This shows how necessary and critical a ceasefire is."
El Anouni added that civilians on both sides—Palestinians and Israelis—have suffered greatly and for far too long. "This must end now. It is high time to break this cycle of violence," he said.
