China to Allow Visa-Free Entry for Russian Travelers Starting September

Starting September 15, 2025, Russian citizens with ordinary passports will be able to visit China without a visa under a new trial policy announced by Beijing.

The initiative, which runs until September 14, 2026, allows Russians to stay in China for up to 30 days for purposes such as business, tourism, family visits, cultural exchanges, or transit.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said the decision reflects China’s commitment to making travel easier between the two countries.

“China attaches great importance to closer ties with Russia and welcomes more Russian friends to visit more often,” Guo said during a regular press briefing.

The move is expected to boost tourism, business opportunities, and cultural exchange between the two neighbors.
