A severe cloudburst caused sudden flash floods in Dharali village, located in the Uttarkashi district of northern India’s Uttarakhand state, leaving dozens feared trapped.

Rescue teams, including army personnel, are rushing to the village, which has been severely affected. Dharali is a popular tourist spot known for its hotels and restaurants.

Videos shared on social media show a massive wave of water sweeping through the area, flooding buildings in its path.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “I have been informed about the cloudburst in Dharali. We are actively working on rescuing the people affected.”

Uttarkashi’s district magistrate, Prashant Arya, explained that communication with the area has been difficult due to poor network coverage but confirmed that rescue teams have been sent to the site to assist residents and visitors.
